Tour description

Be picked up at your hotel or upon your arrival at Arugam Bay or Panama at 10:30 a.m. Enjoy a hearty lunch and relax before you are whisked away on a One Night Safari Camping Tour at the Kumana National Park.

Venture through winding dirt roads aboard a jeep (which can hold up to 6 persons) into the wilderness of Kumana, the 2nd largest National Park in Sri Lanka, on an exciting safari in search of, among other species, leopards, jackals and hundreds of rare species of migratory and endemic birds such as the Red faced Malkoha, Eurasian Spoonbill, and the Great Thick-knee.Observe a peacock strutting by, listen to the majestic elephants crashing through the forest and spy upon a leopard idly sunning itself.

After arrival at the campsite within the Kumana National Park, enjoy a refreshing bath in the pure, unadulterated river before tucking in a delicious hot meal.

Spend a relaxing evening sitting around a campfire and trading stories; drift to sleep under the starry skies to the hooting of the nocturnal owl; and wake to the orchestra of hundreds of endemic birds.

Begin the second leg of your safari at the break of dawn and continue through the lush woodlands till midday.

Savour a filling picnic breakfast on the way. You may choose either Coconut Roti or Bread with cheese & butter or fruit jam, and enjoy a fruit portion with water melon.
